RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES TYPE OF RECRUITMENT INITIATIVE BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY 1 Participation in events sponsored by community organization interested in broadcast employment issues On February 18, 2011, Cee-Jay, Morning Show Host, spoke to students at Tri-Count High School. Discussion included why radio is a good career and how to get started in radio. On July 19, 2010 Bitsy Matatall attended the 2010 Hoosier Job Fair at the Lafayette Jefferson High School. Information about jobs in radio was dissimilated and questions were answered. On February 15, 2011, Arthur A. Angotti III SEU President, spoke to Ivy Tech about careers in advertising and on air programming. Success and threats to radio were discussed in depth. 2 Establish internship program The stations maintained an internship program to assist members of the local community to gain skills needed for broadcast employment. Although the program is available to the general community, participants were primarily individuals from Purdue University, Ball State and Harrison College. Interns were given the opportunity to rotate throughout various station departments so as to gain exposure to various facets of the broadcasting business. (On-Air, Front Desk, Sales Participants) 3 Participation in Job Fairs On July 19, 2010, Arthur Angotti (SEU President) participated in the 2010 Black Expo Employment Opportunity Fair in Indianapolis, Indiana. On October 16, 2010, The SEU was a cosponsor for the Broadcaster Job Fair held at the Marriott Hotel in Indianapolis, IN. Arthur A. Angotti III (President) represented the SEU at the event. On February 19, 2011, The SEU was a cosponsor for the Broadcaster Job Fair held at the Marriott Hotel in Indianapolis, IN. Arthur A. Angotti III (President) represented the SEU at the event. 4 Participation in ongoing education to insure that all positions are filled according to the EEOC and Artistic Media Partners, Inc. guidelines. On February 7, 2011, Artistic Media Partners, Inc. Managers in all markets took part in an EEOC/Harassment/Discrimination training seminar conducted by Arthur A. Angotti III. Attendance was mandatory for all hiring managers. 5 Scholarship Programs designed to assist students interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting. 2011 -IBA Scholarship-ran PSA’s on WAZY, WSHP, WBPE & WSHY promoting the scholarship. The stations were a distribution point for students to pick up the scholarship packets. The stations ran a combined 310 commercials to raise awareness of the scholarship opportunity.
